ABSTRACT: This research investigates the impact of early childhood education on young children's understanding of food culture. Educating children about food culture early can promote cultural awareness and appreciation for diverse cuisines. Objectives included evaluating children's knowledge of food culture, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early food culture education. A survey design was chosen for its effectiveness in gathering broad data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Niger State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to food culture education demonstrated better understanding and appreciation of diverse food traditions. Effective practices included interactive lessons on food traditions, hands-on cultural food activities, and exposure to multicultural food experiences. The study recommended incorporating food culture education into early childhood programs to promote cultural awareness and appreciation from an early age.
